Directions
- Pat the shrimp dry with a paper towel. This helps them sear instead of steam.
- Sprinkle the shrimp with Canal Side No. 1 and toss gently until coated.
- Heat olive oil and butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add the shrimp in a single layer. Cook for 1 to 2 minutes per side, just until pink and lightly golden. Remove shrimp from the skillet and set aside.
- Add the minced garlic to the same skillet and cook for about 30 seconds, just until fragrant.
- Add lemon juice, lemon zest, and chicken broth or seafood stock. Stir, scraping up the buttery seasoned bits from the bottom of the pan.
- Return the shrimp to the skillet and toss everything together for another 30 seconds to 1 minute.
- Sprinkle with fresh parsley and serve warm with lemon wedges.
Salt Spring Tip
Do not overcook the shrimp. Once they turn pink and curl into a loose “C” shape, they are ready. If they curl tightly into an “O,” they have gone too far.
Serve With

Make It a Meal
For a cozy dinner, serve the shrimp over pasta with an extra spoonful of the lemon herb butter from the skillet.
For a lighter option, spoon it over rice or roasted vegetables with a squeeze of fresh lemon.
Flavor Notes
This skillet is buttery, garlicky, lemony, and herb-forward. Canal Side No. 1 adds a savory garden-herb flavor with a little warmth from red pepper flakes and a clean Syracuse salt finish.
The lemon brightens the shrimp, the butter makes the sauce rich, and the herbs give it that classic homemade flavor that works beautifully with seafood.
