SPRING HOUSE NO. 3 RECIPE

Spring House Creamy Chicken & Stuffing Bake

Creamy chicken, tender vegetables, cozy stuffing, and a buttery golden top make this the kind of dinner that feels like it came straight from the family recipe box. Spring House No. 3 adds bright lemon-herb warmth to the creamy filling, giving this nostalgic comfort bake a little extra homemade flavor without making it complicated.

Ingredients

Chicken Filling

  • 2 1/2 cups cooked shredded chicken
  • 1 can cream of chicken soup
  • 1/2 cup sour cream or plain Greek yogurt
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1 to 1 1/2 teaspoons Spring House No. 3
  • 1 1/2 cups frozen mixed vegetables
  • Optional: 1/2 cup shredded cheddar or mozzarella cheese
  • Optional: 1 teaspoon lemon juice for extra brightness

Stuffing Topping

  • 1 box chicken or herb stuffing mix
  • 1 1/4 cups hot water or chicken broth
  • 3 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1/2 teaspoon Spring House No. 3
  • Optional: fresh parsley for topping

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F.
  2. Lightly grease a 9x13-inch baking dish or a similar casserole dish.
  3. In a large bowl, stir together cream of chicken soup, sour cream, chicken broth, Spring House No. 3, and lemon juice if using.
  4. Fold in the shredded chicken, frozen mixed vegetables, and cheese if using.
  5. Spread the creamy chicken mixture evenly into the prepared baking dish.
  6. In a separate bowl, combine stuffing mix, hot water or broth, melted butter, and Spring House No. 3.
  7. Let the stuffing sit for 2 to 3 minutes, then fluff gently with a fork.
  8. Spoon the stuffing evenly over the chicken filling.
  9. Bake uncovered for 28 to 35 minutes, or until the filling is hot and bubbling around the edges and the stuffing is golden on top.
  10. Let rest for 5 minutes before serving.
  11. Top with fresh parsley if desired.

Salt Spring Tip

For the coziest flavor, use chicken broth instead of water in the stuffing. A little Spring House No. 3 in both the creamy filling and the stuffing topping gives the whole bake that lemon-herb, Sunday-dinner warmth.

Serve With

Serve with cranberry sauce, green beans, roasted carrots, mashed potatoes, buttered corn, or a simple side salad. It is also perfect on its own for a cozy weeknight dinner that tastes like something familiar and comforting.
